After just two hours of deliberation, a Wisconsin jury handed down a long-anticipated verdict in the Waukesha Parade attack case.

On Wednesday, jurors found the defendant, Darrell Brooks, guilty of six counts of a first-degree intentional homicide. He also faces additional verdicts on over 60 counts of recklessly endangering safety.

Statement from @CityofWaukesha on Brooks verdict: “I am thankful that the jury found the defendant guilty on all counts,” said Mayor Shawn Reilly. “We can now re-focus on taking steps forward as a community and continue the healing process.” @fox6now

Brooks was on trial after driving his SUV through a Christmas parade last year. There, he killed six people and injured dozens more.

Brooks represented himself in his trial after retracting his insanity plea in September. His behavior in the courtroom was erratic and he was filled with persistent disruptions.

He is now waiting to be sentenced and faces a lifetime behind bars for his convictions.
