Biden Officials Cut Razor Wire On Southern Border: ‘Opening The Floodgates To Illegal Immigrants’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott shared a video on social media this week showing President Joe Biden’s Border Patrol cutting razor wire that the state of Texas had placed alongside on the Rio Grande to stop illegal aliens from flooding into the country.

“Texas installed razor wire in Eagle Pass to stop illegal crossings,” the governor wrote on Twitter. “Today the Biden Admin CUT that wire, opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants.”

“I immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings & install more razor wire,” he added.

Texas Border Czar Mike Banks posted a video on Thursday showing Texas National Guard soldiers were on the ground in Eagle Pass replacing the razor wire that the Biden Administration cut.

“Texas will continue to install more razor wire and fortify the border against illegal crossings,” Abbott said. “We will not back down.”

NewsNation reported that 4,000 illegal aliens stormed the area on Wednesday and that at one point the line stretched five miles long and went into Mexico.

The Democratic mayor of Eagle Pass, Mayor Rolando Salinas, issued a local disaster declaration to provide additional resources to help deal with the crisis.

“There has been a situation the last couple of days where we have gotten an influx of immigrants crossing through Eagle Pass. And it has taken a toll on our local resources,” said Salinas. “I’ve been getting a lot of calls from our constituents, and they get worried — they see a lot of a lot of people in our community.”

Salinas told CNN on Thursday that the crisis was “unacceptable” and that he has not heard from anyone in the Biden administration.

The Biden administration has yet to release official immigration totals for the month of August, but reports suggest numbers are climbing back to the peak in May. From Friday to Monday, an average of 9,000 immigrants a day reportedly crossed the southern border. On Monday alone, over 9,700 immigrants were reportedly caught or processed crossing the southern border illegally and through ports of entry.

NEW: Per CBP sources, in the last 24 hours, Border Patrol apprehended over 8,000 illegal immigrants, & when combined w/ CBP ports of entry, there were a staggering 9,700+ migrant encounters across the border in one day. Highest day on record was 10,000+ in May before T42 ended.

NEW: Past four days (Fri-Mon) total migrant encounters at the SW border (BP+OFO) exceeded 35k at an average of nearly 9,000 per day per CBP sources. Exact count: 35,573 encounters / 8,893 daily average… This does NOT include Known Gotaways @FoxNews

Neither total includes got-aways, leaving the real number of immigrants who entered the country almost certainly higher. The record for daily crossings was set back in May before the repeal of Title 42 — roughly above 10,000 a day.
