Charlie Kirk Memorial To Be Held Next Sunday In Massive NFL Stadium

A memorial for slain conservative Charlie Kirk will be held next Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

“Join us in celebrating the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Charlie Kirk, an American legend,” Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, posted on X. “The morning of Sunday, September 21, at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, in Glendale, AZ.”

State Farm Stadium, home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, seats more than 63,000 people.

“This service will be a unifying event focused on prayer, mourning, and celebrating the life, legacy, and memory of Charlie Kirk — a national treasure whose life was cut far too short,” a press release from GOP Arizona state Sen. Jack Hoffman said.

Kirk, 31, was assassinated while answering questions at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He had massive influence with young conservatives, having founded TPUSA at just 18 years old. Kirk was known for speaking openly about his Christian faith as much as his politics.

Vigils have been held across the country in Kirk’s honor.

Kirk’s suspected assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” according to Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox. Robinson was reportedly living with a trans-identifying partner.

He’s facing state charges including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice.

President Donald Trump announced this week that he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The pair were extremely close, and the Trump family recently said the president viewed Kirk “like a son.”

“They said, ‘Charlie Kirk is dead,'” Trump recounted learning of Kirk’s murder. “I didn’t know what they meant. I said, ‘What do you mean, dead?’ ‘Charlie Kirk was shot…’ I just told these people, ‘Get out. Just go.’”

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told NewsNation, “The president was clear: the perpetrator of this horrific act will pay for what they did. They will face the full wrath of the American justice system. And any other left-wing whack jobs who engage in targeted political violence like the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
