Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg claimed that former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance have run a campaign of “darkness” and promoted the campaign of “joy” that Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz were bringing.

Governor Josh Shapiro took the stage after some confusion as to whether or not he had been bumped from the evening’s program, and he used his time to claim that Democrats — who locked Americans out of schools and inside their homes during the COVID pandemic — were the party of “real freedom.” “Real freedom,” he explained, was making sure Republicans could not keep pornography out of the hands of kindergarteners.

Singer James Taylor responded to his ouster on Monday night — when scheduling led to his performance being bumped from the lineup and President Joe Biden’s speech being bumped to well past his bedtime — by delivering an updated version of the song he was supposed to sing.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries referenced the Constitution before repeating a section of the Pledge of Allegiance, praised Biden, lied about January 6th, and said that he only had one message for former President Donald Trump: “Bro, we broke up with you for a reason.”

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel lashed out at Republicans over provisions from Project 2025 — which Trump has repeatedly said was not his platform — and suggested that someone might move to roll back protections for LGBTQ Americans, particularly their ability to marry.

Biden Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo appears to believe the recent downward revision — which says that nearly a million of the jobs the Biden administration claims to have “created” don’t actually exist — was fabricated by former President Donald Trump. Upon learning that it was the Bureau of Labor Statistics, her response was simply, “I’m not familiar with that.”

Night three of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicks off Wednesday, and Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) will close out the night with his acceptance of the vice presidential nomination. The only question is whether or not he can get through his speech — said to focus on “his lifetime of service and his commitment to safeguarding the freedoms that we all hold dear” — without adding another whopper to his growing list of fabrications.

Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) is expected to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for vice president, but before that happens, the parade of speakers is set to include former President Bill Clinton and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
John Legend is expected to perform a tribute to Prince on Wednesday as well.
