Close friends of Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly “sickened” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Netflix documentary trailer, which was notably released during the former couple’s trip to America.
Critics accuse the former royals of painting William and Kate as cold and adversarial to Harry and Meghan, who are portrayed as madly in love and scared for their well-being. In particular, one photo of a stony-looking Kate shown in the trailer is angering allies of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
“I was appalled when I watched this trailer, frankly, It’s everything we feared, it really is,” royal expert Richard Eden told The Daily Mail. “I’ve heard from Friends of Prince William and Catherine today, and they’ve been frankly sickened by what’s appeared in this video. The use of William and Catherine and the image and the way it’s presented, my goodness.”
Eden noted the photo was juxtaposed with footage of Meghan crying.
“Remember, this is a service that Omid Scobie, Meghan’s cheerleader, wrote about,” he explained. “He (Scobie) said that Harry and Meghan had been left, that William and Catherine had refused to make even eye contact with them that day and this seems to be referring to that.”
Friends of William and Kate believe the team behind the documentary “seem to have gone to great lengths to find the one unflattering image of Catherine for this trailer.”
“I mean come on, Meghan is meant to have given up acting but she seems to be back acting again for this reality show or documentary series,” Eden slammed. “We don’t just see her in tears at one point. That’s not enough: not one single tear dripping down her cheek.”
Eden added that Markle made it a point to “emphasize these tears.”

“No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors,” Harry says in the trailer, while Meghan claims they had to tell their “story” because the “stakes are this high.”
“At its core, their relationship looks like many others: They met, had a whirlwind romance, fell in love, got married, had children, and built a life based on shared values and mutual support of each other’s work and ambitions,” the Netflix blurb describes the “Harry & Meghan” project. “But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no ordinary couple. Theirs is one of the most high-profile love stories in history, and even the most plugged-in fans and followers of their story have never heard it told like this before.”
Others have slammed the timing of the documentary.
“Very clear now that Prince Harry & Meghan Markle are intent on destroying the Royal Family,” Piers Morgan asserted. “You can agree with them or think, as I do, that they’re repulsive narcissistic hypocrites, but their agenda is now indisputable & constitutes an existential threat to the British Monarchy.”
