More Classified Material Found At Trump’s Home, Was ‘Electronically Copied’ Onto A Laptop: Report

More classified material found at former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida was reportedly turned over by his legal team to federal law enforcement officials last month.

ABC News reported that the folder with classified markings was found at Mar-a-Lago in mid-January. It was not clear what information was inside the folder.

The classified material was found as Trump’s team was searching the property for more classified documents amid the federal criminal investigation into the former president’s handling of classified material and government records.

The classified material was found in the Mar-a-Lago complex and not in the storage facility in which federal law enforcement officials found hundreds of classified documents during a raid of the property last August, the report said.

Trump attorney James Trusty reportedly turned over the newly discovered classified material to federal law enforcement officials and informed them that “it had been electronically copied to a laptop of a current Trump aide.”

Federal agents later seized the laptop, which was not at Mar-a-Lago, from the aide.

John Cohen, former acting undersecretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, said that in a situation like this, investigators are going to search the computer to see if the classified material is still on it or if it “was transmitted electronically to other computers or devices via that computer.”
