Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed the Biden family after the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed this week that the laptop connected to President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is, in fact, his.
Cruz made the remarks during the most recent episode of his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson this week after the revelation was made in federal court as Hunter Biden’s legal team tried to get one of the criminal cases against him tossed.
“Look, this is a stunning admission. It means Joe Biden lied to the American people,” Cruz said. “Hunter Biden lied to the American people. Just about every single elected Democrat in America lied to the American people. Just about every single corporate media outlet that repeated the Democrat talking points lied to the American people.”
Cruz noted that a lot of the lying about the laptop happened in October 2020, just a couple of weeks before the presidential election.
Speaking on the former intelligence officials who signed a letter saying that they believed the Hunter Biden laptop story had the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation campaign, Cruz said that they “demonstrated that they’re willing to be partisan.”
“They’re willing to lie to the American people,” he said. “And they don’t feel they have any obligation to the truth. I mean, this does enormous damage to the Department of Justice, the FBI, because they knew as a fact, that what Biden was saying that what was being said public was a total lie.”
Cruz said that reporters should question the dozens of officials who signed the letter and ask them if they are embarrassed or if they will apologize to the American people.
“I don’t think there’ll be a single reporter who will ask them that because the corporate media participated in the lies as well,” he said. “They’re not embarrassed, they’re not ashamed. And they’re certainly not going to ask the liars who participated in what is, you want to talk about election interference? This is blatant election interference.”
Biden's DOJ has demonstrated that it is willing to be partisan and lie to the American people.
