NATO Increases Baltic Presence As Mystery Drones Swarm Denmark

NATO said on Saturday it is upgrading its mission in the Baltic Sea with an air-defense frigate and other assets in response to drone incursions in Denmark.

Unidentified drones were observed near military installations in Denmark overnight, the Armed Forces said on Saturday, following several drone incursions near airports and critical infrastructure this week.

Copenhagen Airport, the Nordic region’s busiest, closed for several hours late on Monday as several large drones were seen in its airspace. Five smaller Danish airports, both civilian and military, were also shut temporarily in the following days.

In response, NATO will “conduct even more enhanced vigilance with new multi-domain assets in the Baltic Sea region,” it said in a statement emailed to Reuters.

The alliance said the new assets included “intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms and at least one air-defense frigate.”

A NATO spokesperson said they would not provide details on which countries were contributing the extra assets.

The new assets will enhance NATO’s “Baltic Sentry” mission, launched in January in response to a string of incidents in which power cables, telecom links, and gas pipelines on the Baltic Sea bottom have been damaged.

NATO countries have deployed frigates, patrol aircraft, and naval drones as part of the mission, to help protect critical infrastructure.

The alliance also launched the “Eastern Sentry” mission this month, to bolster the defense of Europe’s eastern flank in response to Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace.

It warned Russia on Tuesday that it would use “all necessary military and non-military tools” to defend itself after Estonia said on Friday that three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated its airspace for 12 minutes before NATO Italian fighter jets escorted them out.

Russia has disputed that Russian jets violated Estonia’s airspace and said that its drones had not planned to hit targets in Poland.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said on Saturday that the threat from drones was “high” and that the country would take measures to defend itself.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned NATO and the European Union on Saturday that “any aggression against my country will be met with a decisive response.”

Trump Authorizing ‘Full Force’ Of Military To Protect ICE From Antifa, Domestic Terrorists

President Donald Trump on Saturday morning said he was authorizing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to “provide all necessary troops” to protect Portland and any U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities under attack by far-Left Antifa and other domestic terrorists.

Trump noted that the request came from Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and that he’s authorizing “full force, if necessary.”

“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” the president posted to Truth Social.

“I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary,” he added. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

An ICE facility in Portland has become a target of violent leftist protesters, some of whom have been charged with assault. There have been violent clashes with authorities and federal agents have been injured. Moreover, earlier this month, protesters erected a guillotine outside the facility, which Secretary Noem called “unhinged behavior.”

Trump said earlier this week that what’s been going on in Portland is largely due to “professional agitators and anarchists.”

This past week, a man shot indiscriminately into an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas, killing one illegal immigrant and harming two others. According to authorities, the suspect, who took his own life, intended to inflict “terror” on ICE agents.

ICE agents have increasingly become targets of left-wing attacks and doxxing efforts. Assaults on agents have jumped 830% compared to a year ago. Due to this threat, some agents have resorted to covering their faces when they make arrests.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, however, recently signed a law banning ICE agents from masking. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin called the new law “despicable” and “a flagrant attempt to endanger” federal officers.

Agency sources have told The Daily Wire that the new law isn’t going to stop them from masking. “Nice try by Newsom, but he knows it doesn’t apply to federal agents,” one source said. “He loves stirring the pot so that people find more ways to bring conflict to ICE.”
