‘Believe Me Now, George?’: Nikki Haley Dunks On ABC Anchor Who Questioned Her Biden Prediction

Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley blasted ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday after a clip from last August resurfaced on social media showing Stephanopoulos being critical of Haley’s prediction that Biden would have to step down.

The ABC News host is set to sit down with Biden this week in the president’s first interview since his disastrous debate performance last week. Last summer, Stephanopoulos pressed Haley to show “evidence” that Biden would not be able to finish his first term and that Vice President Kamala Harris would assume the role of commander-in-chief.

“There’s no way Joe Biden is going to finish his term. I think Kamala Harris is going to be the next president, and that should send a chill up every American’s spine,” Haley told Stephanopoulos last August before the ABC News anchor cut her off.

“Excuse me. Excuse me one second about that. How do you know Joe Biden is not going to finish his term? What is that based on?” asked Stephanopoulos, the former White House communications director for President Bill Clinton.

“Do you think that he’s actually going to finish what he started?” Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the U.N., replied. “We look at the decline he’s had over the last few years. You have to be honest with the American people, George.”

Stephanopoulos continued to push Haley to provide “evidence” that Biden wouldn’t finish his first term. The legacy media has been criticized for downplaying Biden’s apparent mental and physical struggles while in office, especially after his debate against former President Donald Trump last week caused panic among many Left-leaning political commentators.

During the debate, the 81-year-old president struggled numerous times to reply coherently to the moderators, CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. Biden reportedly admitted at a private fundraiser that he almost fell asleep while debating Trump.

“Believe me now, George?” Haley posted on X along with the video of her interview with Stephanopolous last summer.

Biden reportedly discussed the future of his re-election campaign with his family over the weekend, and his family members urged him to stay in the race.

“[The Biden family] will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president,” first lady Jill Biden told Vogue following the debate.

“We will continue to fight.” she said, adding, “[Biden] will always do what’s best for the country.”

A group of Democratic governors — including Gavin Newsom of California, Andy Beshear of Kentucky, and Tim Walz of Minnesota — are reportedly set to meet with Biden on Wednesday “to make sure he’s doing ok.”

“I think the governors just want a direct and candid conversation with the president. We want to make sure he’s doing okay,” Beshear told CNN on Tuesday. “We all know him. He has formed a personal relationship with us, and he says he is [OK], and we take him at his word, but it’s always good to see somebody in person.”

Obama Begins To Sour On Biden In Private After Showing Support Publicly: Report

Former President Barack Obama appears to be souring on President Joe Biden’s re-election chances in private talks with allies, just days after he published a statement backing the failing 81-year-old president.

The Washington Post reported that Obama is telling top allies who reach out that Biden’s “already-tough path to reelection grew more challenging” after his disastrous debate performance.

The report said that Obama has long warned Biden about how hard it will be for him to beat Trump and that he has expressed serious concerns to Democrats in recent weeks about the trouble they are in for the upcoming election.

The Post’s report about Obama’s harsher tone about Biden in private comes as new polling from Reuters/Ipsos released on Tuesday found that only former first lady Michelle Obama is able to beat Trump in a head-to-head matchup and she does so by a double-digit margin, 50-39.

Following the debate last week, Obama posted on X: “Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November.”

Obama allegedly warned Democrats several years ago against choosing Biden for the party’s nominee, saying: “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f*** things up.”

Obama also allegedly told one of the other Democrats who ran in 2020: “And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden.”

The New York Times reported that Obama tried to discourage Biden from running, saying: “You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t.” Obama also reportedly summoned a meeting with top officials from Biden’s 2020 campaign where he told them that they needed to make sure that Biden did not “embarrass himself” or “damage his legacy” during the campaign.

The news comes as three Democrat officeholders stated on Tuesday that they believe Biden will lose to Trump this fall, including Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), who called on Biden to step down; Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), and Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME). Obama’s former HUD Secretary Julian Castro also called on Biden to resign on Tuesday.

The New York Times reported on Tuesday that those closest to Biden have noticed that he “increasingly appeared confused or listless, or would lose the thread of conversations” and that these incidents are “growing more frequent, more pronounced and more worrisome.”

The White House is refusing to let Kevin C. O’Connor, the White House physician, answer questions from the media about Biden’s condition and said that O’Connor does not believe that Biden needs to be re-evaluated for Parkinson’s disease — even though the condition that most speculate Biden has is some form of dementia. The administration went even further and denied that Biden had ever taken “Levodopa or other drugs for that condition.”

As Biden appears to be circling the drain, his inner circle is tightening its grip and shielding him even more from public view in an effort to protect him from making further mistakes.

NBC News reported on Tuesday that Biden’s son, convicted felon and drug addict Hunter Biden, was now attending official White House meetings with the president to the shock of most in the administration.
