‘The Chosen’ Scores Extended Theatrical Release Following Overwhelming Response For Finale Tickets

The season 3 finale of “The Chosen” — a series about Jesus and those close to him — has scored an extended theatrical release following overwhelming response from fans over tickets.

Fathom Events announced that fans of the faith-based show can catch Episodes 7 and 8 of the latest season in theaters not just on February 2 and 3, but on multiple dates through February 6 nationwide where possible, CBN News.com reported.

It comes after the creator of the fan-supported series, Dallas Jenkins, announced when and where the finale could be viewed and fans crashed the movie ticket site, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“These are huge episodes,” Jenkins shared of the finale, which will include the Feeding of the 5,000.

“Episodes 7&8 of Season Three are so big they demand to be on the big screen,” a message on the series’ official Facebook page read at the time.

“And apparently you demand it, too, as the rush for tickets initially crashed the Fathom Events website,” the message added. “But now you can get tickets there or your local listing for our big Season Finale Thursday, Feb 2 or Friday, Feb 3. As we explained in our big livestream (still viewable), we are still completing these episodes.”

“However: Our plans for the streaming release will NOT be delayed by the theatrical. Episode 7 livestream will be Sunday, Feb 5 and Episode 8 livestream will be TUESDAY, Feb 7,” the message continued. “More to come!”

And as previously noted, the finale will include what the creator of the series has called “by far, the biggest thing we’ve ever done” regarding the filming for the feeding of the 5,000.

The first two episodes of Season 3 premiered on the big screen with fans making it No. 3 at the box office opening weekend. It was later released for free on the show’s app and to stream with a message about paying it forward, as previously reported.

Season 1, which was released in 2019, “was the #1 highest crowd-funded entertainment project of all-time, raising $10 million from over 19,000 people,” according to a press release. “Over $40 million in production costs funded for Seasons 2 and 3 via the disruptive pay it forward model.”

Bauer claimed that no documents with classified markings were found.

“Consistent with the process in Wilmington, the DOJ took for further review some materials and handwritten notes that appear to relate to his time as Vice President,” he added.
