Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton spoke in a press conference Friday to respond to Texas House RINOs’ “illegal impeachment scheme” with no due process.

Paxton accused the participants in the attempted impeachment of “political theater” and concluded, “this shameful process was curated from the start as an act of political retribution.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Texas House on Friday announced it will vote on a resolution to impeach highly popular Attorney General Ken Paxton on Saturday, May 27, at 1 pm local time.

Many on social media pointed out that Texas Speaker Dade Phelan sounded like he drank too much Bud Light before introducing the resolution on the Texas House floor. Ken Paxton called on Texas Speaker Dade Phelan to resign for “presiding over the Texas House in a state of apparent debilitating intoxication.”

A Texas House Committee full of RINOs on Thursday voted to recommend impeaching Ken Paxton after an investigation into his ‘corruption.’

The 20 articles include “bribery, unfitness for office and abuse of public trust” – according to the Associated Press.

“The claims that have been made by the General Investigating Committee have been thoroughly researched and debunked time and time again,” said Paxton’s Chief of General Litigation, Chris Hilton. “Texans knew about all of these allegations in the last election, and they rejected them by a margin of ten percentage points.”

While serving as Attorney General in Texas Ken Paxton defended 12 lawsuits related to election laws.

Democrats wanted to open the elections to mail-in ballots and ID-free voting and sued Texas to institute these unconstitutional practices in Texas elections. AG Paxton and his staff won every single one of these cases and prevented Democrats from stealing Texas like they were able to do in Georgia and Arizona. Ken has been fighting for free and fair elections in Texas and understands what a huge issue this is in our country today.

These RINOs are deliberately trying to destroy our country by stopping Paxton’s fight against election fraud and the Biden Regime.

Attorney General Paxton told the media, “There is no other state in this country with so much influence over the fate of our nation, and this is solely because of the relentless challenges I bring against Biden’s unconstitutional policy agenda.”

“This process is being driven by an Obama-appointed Democrat who works for the House,” said Chief of General Litigation Chris Hilton. “They threw us out of the committee hearing yesterday when we showed up with documents and reports that would disprove the spurious allegations.”

Paxton added, “they have denied me the opportunity to present the evidence which contradicts their politically motivated narrative, and they are showcasing their absolute contempt for the electoral process.”

Paxton: By proceeding with this illegal impeachment scheme to overturn a decision made by Texas voters just a few short months ago, the corrupt politicians in the Texas House are demonstrating that blind loyalty to Speaker Dade Phelan is more important than upholding their oath of office. They are determined to ignore the law. They have denied me the opportunity to present the evidence which contradicts their politically motivated narrative, and they are showcasing their absolute contempt for the electoral process.

Every politician who supports this deceitful impeachment attempt will inflict lasting damage on the credibility of the Texas House which I served in. The House is poised to do exactly what Joe Biden has been hoping to accomplish since his first day in office: sabotage my work as attorney general of Texas. Their plot imperils critical litigation my office has brought against the Biden Administration to end the federal government’s attacks on our constitutional rights and the rule of law. There is no other state in this country with so much influence over the fate of our nation, and this is solely because of the relentless challenges I bring against Biden’s unconstitutional policy agenda. Under my leadership, our state has sued Biden nearly 50 times to end his unlawful, tyrannical policies. In fact, this week, while the Texas House was killing essential bills on crime and illegal immigration and plotting their illegal impeachment scheme in secret, it was business as usual for me.

I was launching lawsuits against the Biden administration and predatory corporations. On Tuesday, I sued the Biden Homeland Security to end his illegal use of CBP that brings more aliens into the country. On Wednesday, I announced a lawsuit against global hotel chain Hilton for violating Texas consumer protection laws. On Thursday, I sued Biden’s IRS over his devastating new policy that will impair child support services in our state and across the nation, putting millions of children at risk. Then, I announced an $85 million settlement that we secured with Volkswagen and Audi over the violations of Texas environmental laws. For us, it’s pretty routine. As Attorney General, I’m leading dozens of urgent challenges against Biden’s unlawful policies. My lawsuits threatened his destructive attempts to open the borders, obliterate our Second Amendment rights, and destroy our country with extremist tyrannical regulations. In addition to defending Texas from illegal federal policy, my office works night and day to solve cold cases, fight human trafficking, prosecute Medicaid fraud, and hold predatory corporations accountable when they harm the public. For this crucial work to continue, the political theater must come to an end. I’m grateful for the outpouring of support I’ve received from so many Texans who understand this process is unjust and unethical. The fact that I was prohibited from presenting evidence to defend myself reveals that this shameful process was curated from the start as an act of political retribution. This vote is expected to take place Saturday at 1 pm, and I want to invite my fellow citizens and friends to peacefully come let their voices be heard at the Capitol tomorrow. Exercise your right to petition your government. Let’s restore the power of this great state to the people instead of to the politicians. I hope the House makes the right decision, but if not, I look forward to a quick resolution to the Texas Senate where I truly believe the process will be fair and just. Hilton: The Articles of Impeachment laid out on the House floor yesterday are completely meritless. The claims that have been made by the General Investigating Committee have been thoroughly researched and debunked time and time again. These allegations have been put to the voters time and time again. But now just 150 House members are going to decide whether their judgment matters more than the millions of voters who elected Ken Paxton last November. The General Investigating Committee could have asked us for interviews, testimony, and documents, anything that would shed light on these allegations. If they cared about truth, or about fairness, or about transparency, they would have run a transparent investigation and invited us to participate. Instead, they threw us out of the committee hearing yesterday when we showed up with documents and reports that would disprove the spurious allegations. They didn’t even want to hear our side of the story.

The General Investigating Committee concocted this scheme behind closed doors and in less than three days we’ve gone from a mysterious matter A, being discussed in committee, to a full-blown impeachment vote. And the committee and their investigators couldn’t even get basic things right. The Attorney General’s countertops are tiled not granite. He paid for all his home repairs and renovations. He claims one homestead exemption just like every other homeowner. Why should we take the General Investigating Committee’s word on anything when they can’t even get the little things right? There’s no court in America that would tolerate a process like this one. And there’s no precedent in Texas history for an illegal one-sided sham investigation like this one.

The memorandum leaked today by the general investigating committee makes clear they do not care at all about the fundamental right to due process. And this process is being driven by an Obama-appointed Democrat who works for the House and whose legal analysis has been a thorn in the side of serious attorneys around the Capitol for years. The flimsy justification for their actions that this this office’s attempt to settle pending litigation, something that we do every day of the week is transparently a pretext. the legislature, not Ken Paxton, has always had the final word on funding that settlement which we have repeatedly acknowledged and which is a term of the settlement that anyone can read. Simply put, the General Investigating Committee should be embarrassed that they are recommending these articles to the House. The members should be insulted that they’re going to be asked to take a vote on this tomorrow. And make no mistake, this is an undemocratic and morally reprehensible attempt to overturn the will of millions of Texas voters. It is not too late for the House to do the right thing and to reject this illegal impeachment that violates Texas law, including Texas Government Code 665.081 and the prior term doctrine which has been around for over a century in Texas case law. Texans knew about all of these allegations in the last election, and they rejected them by a margin of ten percentage points. This is wrong and the House members know it. But even if the General Investigating Committee and the Democrats are able to pass these articles, we look forward to working with the Texas Senate to bring all the facts to light and make clear that the voters’ voices still matter in Texas. We trust that the Senate will be impartial, will value fairness, and will allow for our full participation in this process. As the Attorney General said moments ago, this is about ending the political theater and allowing the Attorney General to get back to the crucial work of fighting for Texas.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced on Thursday to 18 years in prison.

Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years by far left Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday morning.

Judge Mehta issued “terror enhancement” penalties to lengthen the seditious conspiracy sentence. Mehta argued the “hierarchal leader” should serve nearly two decades in prison to assure he does not conspire another terror attack like January 6, the “blackest of this country.”

“Seditious conspiracy sentences in other cases. As you have pointed out some involved the actual targeting and killing of Americans,” the judge admonished. “Mr. Rhodes, you were convicted of seditious conspiracy. You are a lawyer, you understand what that means. For those who are not, it’s true neither Rhodes nor a conspirator used weapons against a police officer that day.”

In late November 2022, Washington DC jurors reached a guilty verdict of garbage “seditious conspiracy” charges against Stewart Rhodes in the Oath Keepers Trial.

The DC jury found EVERY SINGLE Trump supporter guilty in their disgusting and unconstitutional criminal proceedings against honest Americans who were caught up in the violence on January 6.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes NEVER went inside the US Capitol. He never instructed anyone to go inside the US Capitol. He was unarmed as were all of his Oath Keepers associates that day.  There was no plan to enter the US Capitol.  There was no scheme to take over the government with their bare hands.  The prosecution was a sham.  The jury was a pool of DC Communists and unhinged left-wing activists who see themselves as victims.

The Oath Keepers were in DC in January 2021 to offer security for the several rallies planned by Trump supporters on January 5th and 6th.  The Oath Keepers and Proud Boys have worked security at dozens of events by conservatives, patriots, Christian groups, and Trump supporters to protect them from organized Antifa violence.  Democrats hated them for this.

As reported earlier, conservatives were taken back on Thursday night after Rep. Matt Gaetz told a Twitter Space gathering that he was not “particularly aggrieved” after Oath Keepers founder and President Stewart Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years in prison for alleged seditious conspiracy and “terrorism” on January 6, 2021.

Rep. Matt Gaetz said, “He stood before a jury. They had every Constitutional privilege afforded defendants. They were found guilty of seditious conspiracy and if they were trying seriously to overthrow the government, 1.) they’re idiots. 2.) They had no chance, and 3.) they probably deserve some punishment. I thought that the sentences would be less than they were, so I was a bit surprised by the duration but I wasn’t particularly aggrieved by them.”

On comments by Matt Gaetz

Stewart’s first reaction was to bring up a prior comment by Gaetz, who was curious as to why Stewart not yet been indicted following the Jan. 6 protests.  Stewart was indicted on January 12, 2022, over a year after the January 6 protests.

“I think he’s probably got egg on his face now [Matt Gaetz] because obviously, turns out I was not a Fed,” said Stewart.

“It took them a year to cook up their fake evidence against me, coerced confessions and threatened people. A year in prison to coerce your plea bargains. It took them a long time to finally get around to indicting me because I didn’t go inside.”

“So now I think he has egg on his face. Now he wants to minimize that by saying, well, these people probably weren’t guilty. We are innocent. We are only guilty like I said in my sentencing statement, I’m only guilty, like President Trump, of opposing those who are destroying our country.”

“And I have been opposing them by free speech for 15 years now since our Oath Keepers. That’s what I’ve done. And everything I’ve done has been honorable. And everything that the Oath Keepers has done has been honorable.”

Stewart added, “I’m not sure why he said that, but he needs to take a good hard look at where we are and what has been done to, not just us, but other people. What’s going to be done – to stop the insurrection against the entire MAGA movement? To call us all insurrectionists, all racists, all fascists, all of us anti-democratic. When they say democracy, we are not a democracy, we’re a constitutional public. But what they really mean is our power. So when Biden says they are a threat to democracy, what it really means is they are a threat to our power.”

He added, “Matt Gates, he needs to either retract and fix that.”

Stewart also mentioned during our discussion that The New York Times hired an informant to infiltrate the Oath Keepers.

Rhodes said, “We did have an informant high in our ranks. I’m still under a gag order by the court. I can’t tell you who it was. This person was hired by The New York Times. We got taken care of that. So there was one, but it wasn’t me.”

Stewart Rhodes added this about Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.

“Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, of course, already had targets on our backs because we were the two national organizations around the country that were defending people successfully against Antifa.”

Stewart Rhodes:  “We defended thousands of events throughout the Trump administration, all over the country, and that’s not an exaggeration – everywhere. And in the summer of 2020, for example, we were defending Shelley Luther’s hair salon. Antifa had threatened to burn it to the ground.  She had become notorious in their eyes for refusing to shut down during COVID. … We stood up on her rooftop with rifles to protect her hair salon, and she was very grateful…  That’s why they hate us, the left hates both groups. Of course, when January 6 happened they immediately seized on the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and made us poster children for January 6 because they loathed and hated us. And they want to use us to make January 6 look even worse.  This is a reality. We’ve always had a target on our back. So, I expected this and this is why it was stupid for our guys to go in (the Capitol) because it put our heads on a platter and they understand that.  They know they made that mistake.
