JUST IN: Police Arrest Man Who Assaulted Democrat Congresswoman

Metropolitan Police arrested the man who attacked a Democrat Congresswoman in DC earlier Thursday.

Democrat Rep. Angie Craig (MN) was assaulted in her DC apartment building on Thursday morning and was left bruised and shaken.

Police said the Representative said “good morning” to the assailant as she was entering the elevator to go up to her apartment.

The suspect was reportedly doing push-ups in the elevator before he assaulted the lawmaker.

“This morning around 7:15 am, Rep. Craig was assaulted in the elevator of her apartment building in Washington DC. Rep. Craig defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but otherwise is physically okay,” Craig’s office said.

“There is no evidence that the incident was politically motivated,” the statement said.

“Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig threw hot coffee on man who grabbed her neck and punched her in the chin in an apartment elevator, according to a D.C. police report. Assailant got away.” – according to a statement from Capitol Police.

Police arrested 26-year-old Kendrick Hamlin, AKA Hamlin Khalil Hamlin on Thursday evening.

Kendrick Hamlin appears to be homeless.

“It’s Not a Major Breach”: Joe Biden Downplays China Spy Balloon That Flew Over US for a Week

A day after Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the U.S. military had to shut down communications and movements last week as the China spy balloon flew over strategic military bases during its week-long flyover of the United States from Alaska to South Carolina before being shot down just offshore, Joe Biden said it was “not a major breach.”

Biden made the comment during an interview with Noticias Telemundo by reporter Julio Vaqueiro taped earlier Thursday in Tampa, Florida.

Julio Vaqueiro: And wasn't it a major security breach for the United States, just the fact that the balloon came into the airspace?

President Biden: No. pic.twitter.com/xHOHTNUn7P
