Burgum’s Unflinching Support Of Israel Winning Over Jewish Donors

North Dakota Republican Gov. Doug Burgum, one of the rumored candidates on former President Donald Trump’s shortlist of possible running mates, has won the support of some significant Jewish donors because of his strong support of the state of Israel.

Burgum, a former Microsoft executive, said three weeks after the barbaric Hamas massacre of more than 1200 people in Israel on October 7, “We shouldn’t be surprised that Iran would greenlight a massacre after getting billions of dollars from the Biden administration. Biden has turned maximum pressure into maximum concessions. He literally was begging Iran, the world’s leading sponsor of state terrorism, to reenter the failed Obama-Biden Iran nuclear deal that almost guarantees Iran pathways to nuclear weapons. Joe Biden naively believes that these financial bribes would somehow stop Iran from wanting to cross the nuclear threshold.”

“To the university officials, the talking heads, and the far-left politicians on television that try to draw some kind of moral equivalency between Israel and Hamas, your words are abhorrent. … No Hamas or Hezbollah agent anywhere in the world should be able to find safe harbor. And let me go further: Countries like Qatar cannot be allowed to support terrorists. … Hamas leaders in Doha should be considered legitimate military targets. … We know that as Hamas and Hezbollah use human shields, we must stand up and tell the world, it’s Iran with blood on its hands, not the Jewish state that is fighting for its right to exist.”

“We will put an end to Biden’s attempts to undermine Israel’s sovereignty over Jerusalem; the same goes for the Golan Heights,” he stated.

Burgum also told the Hudson Institute that “Iran’s war on Israel” was “a war on America.”

In April 2023, Burgum signed into law a bill barring anyone contracting with the state from participating in a boycott of Israel; the bill also prevented North Dakota from investing in companies that “would have the effect of requiring or inducing any person to boycott Israel.”

“The thing that always stands out to me is his support of Israel — not only what he had to say about it in his speech, but also back in private conversation,” Fred Zeidman, a top GOP donor, told Jewish Insider.  “He understands it, and for that reason I don’t question his support under any circumstance.”

‘Believe Me Now, George?’: Nikki Haley Dunks On ABC Anchor Who Questioned Her Biden Prediction

Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley blasted ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday after a clip from last August resurfaced on social media showing Stephanopoulos being critical of Haley’s prediction that Biden would have to step down.

The ABC News host is set to sit down with Biden this week in the president’s first interview since his disastrous debate performance last week. Last summer, Stephanopoulos pressed Haley to show “evidence” that Biden would not be able to finish his first term and that Vice President Kamala Harris would assume the role of commander-in-chief.

“There’s no way Joe Biden is going to finish his term. I think Kamala Harris is going to be the next president, and that should send a chill up every American’s spine,” Haley told Stephanopoulos last August before the ABC News anchor cut her off.

“Excuse me. Excuse me one second about that. How do you know Joe Biden is not going to finish his term? What is that based on?” asked Stephanopoulos, the former White House communications director for President Bill Clinton.

“Do you think that he’s actually going to finish what he started?” Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U.S. ambassador to the U.N., replied. “We look at the decline he’s had over the last few years. You have to be honest with the American people, George.”

Stephanopoulos continued to push Haley to provide “evidence” that Biden wouldn’t finish his first term. The legacy media has been criticized for downplaying Biden’s apparent mental and physical struggles while in office, especially after his debate against former President Donald Trump last week caused panic among many Left-leaning political commentators.

During the debate, the 81-year-old president struggled numerous times to reply coherently to the moderators, CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. Biden reportedly admitted at a private fundraiser that he almost fell asleep while debating Trump.

“Believe me now, George?” Haley posted on X along with the video of her interview with Stephanopolous last summer.

Biden reportedly discussed the future of his re-election campaign with his family over the weekend, and his family members urged him to stay in the race.

“[The Biden family] will not let those 90 minutes define the four years he’s been president,” first lady Jill Biden told Vogue following the debate.

“We will continue to fight.” she said, adding, “[Biden] will always do what’s best for the country.”

A group of Democratic governors — including Gavin Newsom of California, Andy Beshear of Kentucky, and Tim Walz of Minnesota — are reportedly set to meet with Biden on Wednesday “to make sure he’s doing ok.”

“I think the governors just want a direct and candid conversation with the president. We want to make sure he’s doing okay,” Beshear told CNN on Tuesday. “We all know him. He has formed a personal relationship with us, and he says he is [OK], and we take him at his word, but it’s always good to see somebody in person.”
