Islamic Terrorists Attack Churches, Synagogues In Russia; Multiple Fatalities Reported

Islamic terrorists carried out what appeared to be coordinated attacks in Russia on Sunday, attacking churches and synagogues and killing multiple police officers in two cities.

The attacks happened in Russia’s southernmost Dagestan province, a majority-Muslim region that is a breeding ground for Islamic terrorism.

The Israeli government provided the most information about the attacks while the Russians have provided few details up to this point.

“The synagogue in Derbent was set on fire and burned to the ground,” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. “Local guards were killed. The synagogue in Makhachkala was attacked by gunfire, there are no further details. At the same time, churches were attacked in Makhachkala and a priest was murdered in Derbent.”

“As far as is known, there were no worshipers in the synagogues at the time of the attack and there are no known casualties from among the Jewish community,” the statement continued. “The Israeli embassy in Moscow is in contact with the leaders of the Jewish community in the district.”

Dagestan Public Monitoring Commission Chairman Shamil Khadulaev said that the terrorists slit the priest’s throat in Derbent. Other priests have barricaded themselves in the church and are waiting for help, he said.

At least 15 police officers were killed, as were several civilians, by the terrorists. At least six terrorists were killed.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a terrorism investigation in response to the attacks, which happened in the the Dagestan cities of Derbent and Makhachkala.

“All the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the terrorist attacks are being established, and their actions will be given a legal assessment,” the investigative directorate statement reads.

Videos that circulated online showed the Islamic terrorists shooting at people and one of the synagogues being burnt to the ground.

The attacks come after Islamic terrorists murdered over 140 people in a large attack on a concert hall in Moscow earlier this year.

Eric Trump Says Biden’s Debate Prep At Camp David Is ‘Pretty Telling’

President Joe Biden heading to Camp David for up to a week of preparations for his upcoming debate is not a show of confidence, Eric Trump argued on Sunday.

The son of former President Donald Trump spoke with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” about expectations for the event.

“It’s pretty telling,” he said, “of a president who has to go to Camp David in the middle of the woods and lock himself effectively in a bunker” for so long.

Biden’s “policies are so bad that he has to figure out some way to polish them up and try and sugarcoat them” with his advisers, Eric Trump said.

Drawing a contrast, Eric Trump said his father takes debate prep “seriously” but “he’s doing what he does. He’s going all over the place campaigning.”

CNN is poised to hold the first presidential debate of the 2024 general election cycle in Atlanta next Thursday, giving the rivals 90 minutes on the air.

Biden travelled to Camp David last Thursday evening to make preparations and may stay at the Maryland retreat up until his face-off with the elder Trump.

“I’m not exactly sure if that’s if that’s a big showing of confidence,” Eric Trump quipped, remarking on Biden potentially staying at Camp David for a week.

He also pictured Biden at the retreat “trying to memorize lines, again, to explain horrible policy decisions that he’s made over the last three and a half years.”

The AP reported Donald Trump will stay on the campaign trail until he returns to his Florida estate for two days of meetings and informal debate prep.

Eric Trump predicted CNN will give Biden a “free pass” while taking the opportunity to “hit” his father during the debate.

When asked if he was on board with the rules CNN has set for the debate and the “playing field” heading into the event, the Trump son expressed confidence.

“I’m comfortable with my father. He’s got — he’s got the right message. He’s got the love of America behind him,” Eric Trump said.

“And he’s going to do — he’s going to do awesome,” Eric Trump added. “He always does. He’s good to go.”
