Jill Won’t Let Joe Step Down Because She Hates Kamala: Report

One reason First Lady Jill Biden may be counseling her husband, President Joe Biden, to remain the Democratic presidential nominee despite numerous calls for him to step down may be her rancor toward Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a report.

The Daily Mail spoke with sources claiming to have the inside scoop on the relationship between Jill Biden and Harris, and concluded that Harris alienated Jill Biden as far back as June 2019 when she attacked Biden in a presidential debate. The sources say the first lady still hasn’t forgiven her.

Harris had stated:

I’m going to now direct this to Vice President Biden. I do not believe you are a racist and I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground. But, I also believe—and it’s personal. And I—I was actually very—it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on segregation of race in this country. And it was not only that, but you also worked with them to oppose bussing.

The Daily Beast reported in 2021;

After a primary debate in June 2019, Jill Biden blew up over Kamala Harris’ challenges to her husband’s stance on race, according to the soon-to-be released book Battle for the Soul. On a call with supporters, the now-first lady reportedly said, “With what he cares about, what he fights for, what he’s committed to, you get up there and call him a racist without basis?” “Go f*** yourself,” she continued. Her press secretary, Michael LaRosa, did not dispute the quote, but said, “the first lady and her team do not plan to comment on any of [the retellings of the 2020 campaign.]”

The Daily Mail spoke with a “former Democratic operative operative in Jill’s circle,” who stated that Jill Biden’s refusal to let her husband step down is  “one hundred percent” due to her intense dislike of Harris. A source told The Daily Mail that Jill Biden harbors “hatred” for Harris.

“Jill holds grudges,” a “Democrat insider” insisted to the outlet. Another source stated, “She doesn’t let things go and she has never forgiven Kamala for comments that some took to be allegations of racism. … Jill was trying to stop Kamala joining the Biden ticket in 2020. She has hated her ever since the school bus thing. But she bit her tongue because Biden boxed himself into a corner by saying he would pick a black woman for his running mate.”

Jill Biden is “’absolutely unwavering about Joe staying [in the race] but if he is forced out or opts out, she would be fully opposed to Kamala replacing him,” a source echoed.

Andy Samberg On Quitting ‘SNL’: ‘I Was Falling Apart In My Life’

Comedian Andy Samberg explained his reasons for quitting the sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” 12 years ago, citing issues with his physical and mental health.

The 45-year-old “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor discussed what happened during an interview on Peacock’s “Hart to Heart.”

“For me, it was like, I can’t actually endure it anymore. But I didn’t want to leave,” Samberg told host Kevin Hart. “Physically and emotionally, like I was falling apart in my life.”

The comedian appeared on seven seasons of “SNL” between 2005 and 2012, participating in popular skits including “D*** in a Box” and “Natalie’s Rap.”

“Physically, it was taking a heavy toll on me and I got to a place where I was like I hadn’t slept in seven years basically,” Samberg told Hart, per Variety.

“We were writing stuff for the live show Tuesday night all night, the table read Wednesday, then being told now come up with a digital short so write all Thursday, all Thursday night, don’t sleep, get up, shoot Friday, edit all night Friday night and into Saturday, so it’s basically like four days a week you’re not sleeping, for seven years,” he continued. “So I just kinda fell apart physically.”

The comedian went on to say being a cast member on “SNL” had similarities to being a professional athlete. “It’s this high pressure thing,” Samberg said. “Your adrenaline goes through the roof. You know, there’s parallels. You have to perform under pressure in front of people.”

He admitted to being nervous about leaving despite having so many challenges with the work. “I had talked to [fellow ‘SNL’ star Amy] Poehler and other people that had already gone. I was like, once I go, when I have an idea, I can’t just do it,” he said. “The craziest thing about working there is once you get going, if you’re just in the shower and you have an idea that s— can be on television in three days, which is the most intoxicating feeling.”

Samberg said it was even more of a challenge when the “SNL” producers didn’t want him to leave.

“They told me straight up, ‘We prefer you would stay,’ and I was like, oh, that makes it harder,” he said. “But I just was like, I think to get back to a feeling of like mental and physical health, I have to do it. So I did it and it was a very difficult choice.”
