Nebraska Democratic State Senator Proposes Amendment To Bar Kids From Attending Church Events

Legendary poet Maya Angelou is famous for her quote “when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” A far-left Nebraska state senator decided to declare war on religious families despite her protestations afterwards that she was merely trolling.

State Senator Megan Hunt was so triggered over a Republican-backed bill that would bar young children from attending grotesque drag queen shows and penalize the adults taking them that she filed a blatantly unconstitutional amendment last Friday to go after individuals taking their kids to church events like vacation Bible study.

Courtesy of the Blaze, here are the full details of Hunt’s blasphemous proposal:

Hunt’s amendment calls for blocking youth from “religious indoctrination camp,” which the proposal defines as “a camp, vacation Bible study, retreat, lock-in, or convention held by a church, youth group, or religious organization for the purpose of indoctrinating children with a specific set of religious beliefs.”

“The Legislature finds that there is a well-documented history of indoctrination and sexual abuse perpetrated by religious leaders and clergy people upon children. Abusers within churches and other religious institutions often use events like church or youth-group-sponsored camps and retreats to earn children’s trust and gain unsupervised access to such children in order to commit such abuse,” a portion of Hunt’s amendment reads.

“No individual under nineteen years of age shall be present at a religious indoctrination camp. Any person nineteen years of age or older who knowingly brings an individual under nineteen years of age to a religious indoctrination camp shall be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor,” Hunt’s amendment states. “No individual under twenty-one years of age shall be present at a religious indoctrination camp if alcoholic liquor is being served at such location, regardless if such alcoholic liquor is being served as part of a religious ceremony.”

Hunt tried to claim afterwards in response to a critic on Twitter that she was merely trying to “make a point” about the Republican bill to protect children. Hunt then fancifully claimed she would withdraw such legislation if it had shot at passing.

This is an amendment that I will use to make a point about the underlying bill, LB371, which bans all-ages drag shows. It won’t pass, I would withdraw it if it had the votes to pass. It’s a device to make a point. We need not clench nor worry. https://t.co/aUgwBtN1QG

Whether or not Hunt is actually serious about her amendment lacks relevance. The fact she has the audacity to equate parents wanting children to serve Jesus Christ to ones who take their kids to events where grown adults expose themselves is a quintessential example of the radical left’s moral turpitude and loathing of faithful Americans.

This is also not the first time Hunt has taken a blowtorch to America’s constitutional liberties. The leftist lawmaker claimed last March that gun ownership was not a God-given right while at the same time denigrating our Founding Fathers.

Here is her tweet from back then:

Owning a gun isn’t a “God-given right.” It’s a slave-owning, misogynistic founding father-given right.

I’m not against 2a, but be real – the Constitution was written by people!

Today I’m filibustering a bill that would allow concealed carry without training or a permit. #NELeg

Hunt’s protestations in response to her amendment should fall on deaf ears. She and her fellow-travelers have continuously demonstrated they view Americans with traditional values as their primary adversaries.

Tragic: Fully Vaccinated and Boosted 6-Year-Old Child Dies Suddenly

On January 25, at the age of 6, Anastasia Weaver passed away unexpectedly in the Emergency Room of Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman, Ohio, surrounded by her family.

Anastasia’s mother, Jessica Day-Weaver, said that her husband, Andrew Weaver, found Anastasia unresponsive around 6 a.m. on Wednesday when he got home.

“This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to make. This morning at 6 am, Anastasia passed away. Andrew came home and checked on her and she wasn’t breathing. I did CPR until the ambulance came then we went to children’s [hospital],” Mrs. Day-Weaver wrote on her Facebook account.

Weaver said that after 15 minutes of being taken to Akron Children’s Hospital, Anastasia was pronounced dead.

No details have been released on the cause of death.

“We aren’t sure what happened. We are in shock and devastated. As soon as we have any updates, we will post them,” said Mrs. Day-Weaver.

A family friend is organizing a Meal Train with the option to donate cash, or a gift card for the family during this difficult time.

As of this writing, the fundraising campaign has raised $8,100 out of the $10,000 goal. You can donate here.

Anastasia was born on November 11, 2016, in Boardman, Ohio, according to an online obituary. She had an identical twin sister, Caitlin.

Her mother, is a nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital, in Boardman, according to COVID Blog.

In a now-private Facebook post, Weaver revealed that she and her twin had received the COVID vaccine.

Post from Nov. 11, 2021: “After an hour and a half of screaming both girls have their first dose of the vaccine. Anna got it without any problems. Caitlin screamed and cried for an hour and a half. Then didn’t she’d a tear when the pharmacist was able to do the shot. I’m beat…”

Post from Jan. 5, 2022: “Covid booster side effects were worse than the second shot for me. Bad headache, 101 temp, bad body aches. They were really bad for about 6-8 hours. I’m mostly better now but still have a slight temp and headache. Even with the side effects the vaccine is worth it. On a good note. My girls had no side effects from the second shot besides a sore arm.”

On June 29, 2022, Anastasia had a seizure.

“Currently at the er with Anna. She had a seizure. She’s doing good. They are running labs at the moment. Update. We are home. Everything came back normal. Just monitoring her at home,” Mrs. Day-Weaver wrote in a now private post.

On July 15, 2022, Mrs. Day-Weaver reported that despite being on medicine to prevent seizures, Anastasia was still having constant “tiny seizures.”

“Found out this morning that Anna is still having tiny seizures that last less than 5 seconds even with upping her medicine. Waiting on her current levels to come back then we will see if we up meds again or add in another one. Not the news we wanted but she is still doing great,” she wrote.

On September 17th, 2022, Mrs. Day-Weaver reported that the entire vaccinated family had contracted COVID-19 which lasted for three weeks.

On January 2, 2023, Anastasia was in the hospital for five days, according to Mrs. Day-Weaver.

Details regarding the cause of death have not yet been released.

The funeral service was held last Monday, January 30, 2023.

Rest in Peace little angel.
