Video Shows ICE Agents Shielded Detainees During Deadly Shooting

Dramatic surveillance video taken outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility during a sniper attack on Wednesday showed federal agents ushering illegal immigrant detainees out of a van and further into the building as bullets rained down on them.

Detainees, who were shackled by the wrists and ankles, were moved swiftly down a hallway by ICE agents while Joshua Jahn, 29, fired his gun indiscriminately into the facility, killing one of the detainees, according to video obtained by Fox News. Two other detainees were injured in the attack, and the shooter himself died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While no ICE agents were injured or killed, Jahn intended to shoot them and inflict “terror” on them, authorities said.

Jahn left chilling notes where he wrote that said ICE agents are merely working “to collect a dirty paycheck” and that he “intended to maximize lethality against” them and “to maximize property damage at the facility,” Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy E. Larson said during a press conference Thursday.

He also hoped “to minimize any collateral damage or injury to the detainees and any other innocent people.”

Marcos Charles, ICE acting executive associate director for enforcement and removal operations, called out anyone who maligns agents, tagging the ones who responded to Wednesday’s shooting as heroes for putting their lives on the line to save detainees.

“The evidence is clear that this was an intended assault on ICE personnel who come to work every day to do their job,” Charles said during Thursday’s press conference.

“Those ICE officers just showed the world who they really are: law enforcement officers who want the best for our country, that’s ICE integrity, courage, excellence. They were willing to put their lives on the line to pull detainees out of the transport van to get them to safety. They are heroes, and I hope the media has the integrity to shine a light on this story. Enough is enough with the harmful lies and rhetoric, and it has to stop,” he added.

Amid a string of left-wing violence against law enforcement and conservative voices, President Donald Trump called on Democrats to stop demonizing law enforcement.

“This is despicable!” said Trump. “The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by Deranged Radical Leftists.”

“This violence is the result of the Radical Left Democrats constantly demonizing Law Enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to ‘Nazis,’” Trump argued. “The continuing violence from Radical Left Terrorists, in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, must be stopped. ICE Officers, and other Brave Members of Law Enforcement, are under grave threat.”

“I AM CALLING ON ALL DEMOCRATS TO STOP THIS RHETORIC AGAINST ICE AND AMERICA’S LAW ENFORCEMENT, RIGHT NOW!” the president wrote. “The Trump Administration is fully committed to backing Law Enforcement, Strong Borders, securing our Homeland, deporting Violent Illegal Criminals, and fully rooting out Left Wing Domestic Terrorism that is terrorizing our Country.”

Chuck Todd Ramps Up Anti-ICE Rhetoric After Deadly Attack

Former “Meet the Press” anchor Chuck Todd called on everyone to lower the temperature and tone down their political rhetoric — just moments before he himself amped up the rhetoric attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Todd’s comments came just days after a gunman — using apps promoted by Democrats and media outlets that track the movements of ICE agents in real time — opened fire on an ICE facility in Texas.

On his podcast — “The Chuck Toddcast” — Todd first remarked on the increasing political violence — and begged Americans to tone things down.

“Please, will everybody stop trying to decide whose side is more prone to violence? The fact of the matter is nobody’s hands are clean,” he said. “We have to turn down the rhetoric.”

Just a short time later, however, Todd himself was turning up the temperature on ICE agents.

“I’m not going to sit here and say ICE is bringing this upon themselves — but why are we masking the agents when they come after people?” he asked, leaving out the fact that ICE agents and their families have been doxxed and threatened — and that ICE officials have told them to wear masks in order to protect themselves from retaliatory action. “This is America. This is not jackbooted thugs coming in at the — you know, that is not what America is supposed to be.”

“When you sort of govern in a nihilistic way, you’re going to end up creating a lot of nihilists. And that’s a very scary proposition for those of us that would like to live in free, normal America,” he added.

Shortly after the ICE facility shooting, Vice President JD Vance called out media personalities for driving the anti-ICE rhetoric.

“You don’t have to agree with my immigration policies. You don’t have to agree with Donald Trump’s immigration policies,” Vance said at the time. “But your political rhetoric encourages violence against our law enforcement, you can go straight to hell, and you have no place in the political conversation of the United States of America.”
