Exit Poll Shows Nearly 70% Of Single Women Voted Democrat In Midterms

Unmarried women voted Democrat in the 2022 Midterm elections by a significant margin, according to exit poll data.

Compared to married individuals favoring GOP candidates this year, a CNN exit poll of 18,571 total respondents found 68% of single women marked their ballots for Democratic politicians — a 37-point margin over the Republican Party.

“One of the fascinating things about our ongoing political realignment is the massive political incentive Democrats have to keep women unmarried,” tweeted political commentator Mollie Hemmingway.

Republicans gained 20% more votes from married men than Democrats, while single men voted 7% more for GOP figures.

The Democratic Party has capitalized on the destruction of the nuclear family since the 1950s. More than 70 years ago, the marriage rate among American households was at its highest. Today, that number decreased by nearly 50%.

The New York Times reported — based on statistics analyzed by The Brookings Institution — nearly 80% of households consisted of married couples before the golden age in America. By 2010, the number of marriages in America had dropped to 48%.

Studies suggest single women vote Democrat more often than married women because they depend on a single income, have feminist attitudes towards social issues like abortion and pre-marital sexual behavior, and agree with ideologies that redefine gender roles and family responsibilities.

“The Democrats’ radical abortion and LGBTQ agenda coupled with their negligent governance of our cities makes perfect sense when you realize the destruction of the nuclear family and dependence on government welfare keeps the Democratic Party in power,” Jayme Chandler Franklin said on Twitter.

Former California gubernatorial candidate and radio show host Larry Elder often argues that the welfare state has incentivized women to marry the government and men to abandon their financial responsibilities.

Other notable figures from CNN’s exit poll data show that 72% of women between 18 and 29 voted Democrat. However, only 48% of women age 65 or older support the party.

Inez Stephman, a senior policy analyst at International Women’s Forum, called the statistic a political force on Twitter.

“On the right, we love to mock and complain about this, but Millennials will have the highest proportion of unmarried and childless women hitting 40, probably in all of human history,” Stephman wrote. “And they will vote to ruin your life.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy says Americans have demanded a new direction for the country as control of the lower chamber is still being determined amid several close races nationwide.

“Republicans will work with anyone who is willing to join us to deliver this new direction that Americans have demanded,” McCarthy said. “But there’s no time to waste. Our work begins now. Let’s get America back on track.”

During remarks Tuesday night in Washington D.C., the GOP leader expressed optimism that the party will emerge with the majority, saying it’s clear they are going to take the House back.

No party has yet been projected to take the majority. Close races in many states including California, Arizona and Nevada have yet to be called.

However, McCarthy is confident Americans are ready for change on Capitol Hill.

“The American people are ready for a majority that will offer a new direction, that will put Americans back on track,” he said. “Republicans are ready to deliver it. It’s a new direction towards an economy that is strong, where you can fill up your tank, feed your family, where your paychecks grow and not shrink. A new direction towards a nation that is safe, where communities are protected, law enforcement is respected and criminals are prosecuted. A new direction toward a future that’s built on freedom, where children come first and are taught to dream big. And a new direction towards a government that is accountable, where government works for you instead of against you.”

McCarthy’s comments come as a number of races could take days to be resolved.

MSNBC predicting even money that Dems retain control of House. Coming out at 219 for Rs, one over control magic number. Who are the potential Joe Manchin’s in the R House caucus who can single-handedly neutralize McCarthy?
One thing is clear: we won’t know House control tonight.
