Chiefs' JuJu Smith-Schuster credits team chemistry to Call of Duty session: 'Kinda just showed on the field'

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster credited Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers to the team’s "chemistry" and "energy" on the field but where that was all built might surprise fans.

During his postgame presser, Smith-Schuster repeatedly praised the Chiefs' ability to connect as a unit and the trust Patrick Mahomes is building with the offense that allowed him to spread the ball out in the Chiefs’ 43-23 rout of the Niners.

Smith-Schuster, who has had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown in each of the last two games, said what he believes made it all click together on Sunday was a gaming session on Friday night with Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

PATRICK MAHOMES’ BIG DAY SPOILS CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY’S 49ERS DEBUT

"You want to talk about chemistry and trust? We started off in Dallas (in the offseason) and worked out there. … We came here and worked out in camp, built that chemistry… but I’m going to tell you what got us the chemistry we needed this game," he explained.

"I think it was Friday night, it was me, Pat, Travis, and MVS – we were playing Call of Duty together. We were playing Warzone and we played three games. We won three games back-to-back… It’s really hard to win a game in Warzone, Call of Duty. And you could just tell the communication between all of us and the chemistry, it was just like we were in a game."

He continued: "It kind of just led into this game. Kinda just showed on the field."

Mahomes threw for 423 yards and three touchdowns to rally Kansas City back from an early double-digit deficit. Kelce was 6-of-8 for 98 yards and Valdes-Scantling had his best performance of the season so far, going 3-of-4 for 111 yards.

"I think it’s honestly just the hard work we’re putting in," Smith-Schuster said. "I think it’s the chemistry and Pat getting to trust all of us and to put the ball where it needs to be and for us to go make the play."

The Chiefs averaged 10.17 yards per play and had eight gains of at least 20 yards on eight drives with Mahomes in the game.

Wynonna Judd Talks About How Relationship With Sister Ashley Judd Has Changed Since Mom’s Suicide

Wynonna Judd talked about how her relationship with sister Ashley Judd has changed for the better following the death of country legend and mom Naomi Judd in April.

During the 58-year-old country music singer’s appearance Monday on the “Today with Hoda & Jenna” show, Judd opened up about still reeling from her mother’s death. She also said that she and her sister are “closer than we’ve been in a long time.”

“Well, when I became an orphan, I took a real strong look around me and said, ‘OK. Forgiveness. Forgiveness is key,'” Wynonna shared.  “Ashley and I are closer than we’ve been in a long time. So, get off our backs there, press. We love each other. And we show up for each other.”

“We don’t agree on much, but we support one another, and we agree to disagree,” she added. “And we’ve had some tough conversations lately about ‘What are we going to do?’ now that we have each other.”

“I feel a lot more tender than I did, and I was always tender-hearted, but I feel even more so now,” Judd continued. “You’re such a strong, yet tender, person. You know what it’s like to feel the loss and the love at the same time. Oftentimes, it’s joy and sorrow at the same time.”

Earlier in the day on the “Today” show, the “I Saw The Light” hitmaker said she’s “somewhere between hell and hallelujah,” as she deals with the loss of their mother.

“And these shows are healing me, one show at a time,” Wynonna shared about the tour she and her mom had previously announced doing together. “And all my friends are coming and it’s like the greatest party you throw yourself before the end. I feel like I’m doing a victory lap and the fans are watching me and they’re for me because they grew up with me.”

The “Why Not Me” hitmaker killed herself in April after a lengthy battle with mental health problems, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

“She obviously was suffering, and, as such, her days up until that moment were hurtful to her,” Wynonna’s sister,  Ashley shared during a “Good Morning America” appearance.
