JD Vance Shreds Left-Wing CNN Host Dana Bash For Defending Tim Walz

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) completely shutdown CNN’s Dana Bash during an interview over the weekend as she tried to defend Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s false claims about his record serving in the National Guard.

Vance made the remarks during a Sunday interview on the networks’ “State of the Union” while talking about Walz’s stolen valor and cowardliness in avoiding deploying to Iraq.

When Bash tried to claim that Walz did not know that his unit was deploying to Iraq when he put in his paperwork to quit, Vance noted that just a couple of days ago that Walz’s commanding officer told CNN that Walz did know that he was deploying when he submitted the paperwork.

“He knew he was going to Iraq. He decided to quit,” Vance noted. “He lied about that. He said that, when he decided to retire, he did not know that he was going to Iraq. That is another untruth, as even his senior military officer said. So, again, I’m not criticizing the service. I’m criticizing the dishonesty, dishonesty spoken in favor and for the purpose of political benefit.”

“And I think that the most important thing here, Dana, is, it goes to Kamala Harris’ judgment,” he continued. “Tim Walz is ultimately going to be the vice president — Kamala Harris is in great health, I’m sure she’s going to be president — if she wins for four or maybe even eight years. Why did Kamala Harris choose a person who has lied about their military service? I think that is a serious lapse in judgment.”

Bash tried to defend Walz by claiming that “a lot” of veterans have come out in support of Walz claiming that it was “untoward to be criticizing” him.

“Dana, I’m not interested in the ad hominem. I have heard from a lot of veterans groups who criticized Tim Walz,” Vance responded. “The question is, he said he served in war, and he didn’t. That is a dishonesty. I really — I couldn’t care less what one or the other person says about it. I care about what the truth is. The truth is that Tim Walz didn’t tell the truth.”

“And, importantly, Dana, this is about Kamala Harris’ judgment,” he continued. “And I think that when you ask, why has Kamala Harris allowed the border to be wide open, why has Kamala Harris supported policies that have promoted the increase in inflation, I think it goes to the heart of her judgment, and I think that that’s what we should be talking about.”

Vance Swings At Kamala: She’s ‘Done As Many Tough Interviews As Tim Walz Has Battlefield Deployments’

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) took a swing at Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday — after he spent the morning taking questions from multiple adversarial media outlets — and managed to hit her newly-announced running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) in the process.

Vance called Harris out over the fact that she had risen to the top of the Democratic Party’s 2024 ticket three weeks earlier — without getting a single primary vote of her own accord — and had yet to take a single interview or difficult question in an unscripted setting.

In the process, the Ohio senator — who is also the Republican vice presidential nominee on former President Donald Trump’s ticket — also jabbed at Harris’ recently-announced running mate, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN).

A 24-year veteran of the Army National Guard, Walz has been accused on a number of occasions of retiring to duck a combat tour and embellishing his service to make it appear as though he served in combat although he never did. Vance, a Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq, referenced that controversy as well.

“I enjoyed sitting down with three of the major networks today to answer the tough questions any leader should answer,” Vance said in a post on X. “Kamala Harris has done as many tough interviews as Tim Walz has battlefield deployments.”

During his Sunday media tour, Vance took adversarial questions from CNN anchor Dana Bash regarding Walz and his time in the National Guard — and Vance made it clear several times that he was not criticizing Walz’s service but rather his willingness to mischaracterize it for political gain.

He went on to say that in choosing Walz to be her running mate, Harris had opened the door for criticisms of her judgment: “Why did Kamala Harris choose a person who has lied about their military service? I think that is a serious lapse in judgment, and I don’t want to hear from a campaign spokesperson, I want to hear Kamala Harris herself address what I just said.”
