‘Pride Is Not A Virtue’: Jordan Peterson Says He Is ‘Done’ With Pride Month

Dr. Jordan B. Peterson expressed this week that he is already “done” with Pride Month, the LGBT celebrations that started when June began on Saturday.

The clinical psychologist and Daily Wire+ host shared his perspective with Fox News, saying Pride Month involves a “dangerous lie” with “real monsters hovering on the edges.”

“I’m just done with it. I don’t like the flag. I think it’s a piece of idiocy. I don’t understand why it changes every bloody week. I don’t know who makes those decisions,” Peterson said. “I don’t like the acronym and all the mystery surrounding it. I don’t like the fact that the LGBT agenda, whatever that is, increasingly dominates the school system. I don’t like the fact that it’s targeted at young people.”

Peterson said he also has a problem with the idea of the LGBT “community,” especially in light of gender ideology and its influence on children.

“Because it’s not a community, and it’s especially not a community right now, because the trans-pushing, gender-affirming butchers and liars primarily target young people whose most likely outcome on the sexual front is homosexuality,” he said.

“So the transgender-affirming butchers and liars are differentially destroying the youthful gay community,” Peterson added. “And that’s not a community by any stretch of the imagination.”

In recent years, a wave of seemingly gender dysphoric children in both the U.S. and Europe have been approved for drugs and surgeries to make them appear as the opposite sex. Some European countries and U.S. states have since pumped the brakes on these treatments.

Peterson added that he thinks transgender surgery is “Nazi, Auschwitz level awful” and such surgeries on children should not only stop, but the surgeons who performed them should be “imprisoned.”

Peterson also cited author G.K Chesterton, who offered a rule of thumb that you should not destroy a fence before knowing why it was put up — in other words, people should not destroy an institution or tradition before understanding why it is in place.

“The pride movement has torn down a lot of fences, and maybe some of those fences needed to go. But all of them didn’t need to go, and there’s plenty of monsters coming out to play now,” Peterson said.

“That’s why we’re seeing this butchery in the medical community, abetted by idiot allies and driven by greed. And those aren’t the worst monsters that exist. And so, if you tear down enough fences, you’re going to find out what they’re for,” Peterson said.

“Keep pushing. Keep pushing. You’re going to lose everything you’ve gained. And I’m not celebrating that at all,” Peterson said.

Peterson also criticized Pride Month’s name.

“You should be very careful what you name things, and ‘pride’ is not a virtue,” Peterson.

“Pride is a cardinal sin, and there’s a reason for that,” he continued. “Pride means something like stubborn refusal to change when evidence of error is accruing, and it’s not a good thing.”

Peterson noted that some LGBT supporters may argue that they do not really mean “pride,” they are just trying to “affirm” their identities.

“Fair enough, I suppose, to some degree, but that was the name that was chosen, and that’s the name that stuck,” Peterson said.

“There’s a real tinge of narcissism, sexual narcissism, about the whole pride spectacle,” he said. “Do people have the right to express their sexuality the way they see fit? To some degree, if it’s consensual and among adults, but generally among human beings with any degree of civilized comportment whatsoever, it’s a pretty damn private affair.”

“It’s also the case that identities based on something as narrow as sexual desire, let’s say, aren’t identities at all. They’re pronouncements of subjection to instinctual whim,” Peterson said.

Problem Solved: ‘The View’ Has Determined COVID’s ‘Origin Wasn’t In This Country’

After much discussion, the cohosts of ABC’s “The View” have determined that the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic “wasn’t in this country” — and Joy Behar even said that she’d heard somewhere that it might have come from a lab.

In a segment from Tuesday’s live broadcast — years after most Americans had determined that COVID had most likely leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China — the show’s cohosts embraced the pandemic’s foreign origins in an attempt to attack Republicans for continuing to question the roles played by American officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Joy Behar began by complaining about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who had objected to referring to Fauci as “doctor” during a Monday hearing, saying that she was disrespectful and not very smart.

“She’s really stupid, and so disrespectful,” Behar said.

Sunny Hostin went on to criticize Republicans in Congress for investigating American officials, saying that it didn’t make sense to scrutinize their roles if the pandemic had originated outside the United States.

“Fifteen months of an investigation — we have real problems in this country,” Hostin began. “Fifteen months of an investigation, spending real taxpayer dollars, it really really just gets to me. And I think that people like Marjorie Taylor Greene and other people really need to start doing the work of the people, as opposed to trying to send these messages.”

“They say that they cannot find out what happened here in the United States in terms of the origin of COVID — well, maybe because the origin wasn’t in this country. Maybe it was in another country, and maybe they need to now start looking at other countries.”

“They say it possibly came out of a lab,” Behar interjected.

Whoopi Goldberg concluded the segment by reminding everyone that “people died” during the pandemic and suggesting that Republicans were saying “people made it up.”
