An Arizona judge ruled that two out of 10 claims, brought by former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, challenging Democrat Governor-elect Katie Hobbs' election victory can go to trial.

Maricopa County Superior Judge Peter Thompson dismissed eight out of 10 counts in Lake's election lawsuit - ruling they did not fall under the proper criteria to bring election challenges under Arizona law.

The two counts that Judge Thompson ruled can go to trial involve printers malfunctioning on Election Day and ballot chain of custody. Lake claimed printers that malfunctioned were not certified and had "vulnerabilities" that made them "susceptible to hacking." She also claimed the printers malfunctioned because of "intentional action." 

Judge Thompson said Lake must prove at trial that someone interfered with the printers in violation of Arizona law, that the interference caused her to lose votes and that those lost votes affected the outcome of the election.

As for the chain of custody issue, Lake claimed employees of the county's ballot contractor violated the "County Election Manual" when they added ballots of family members and also failed to secure an "Inbound Receipt of Delivery." Judge Thompson said whether the county complied with its own manual and applicable statutes is a dispute of fact rather than one of law.

A two-day trial will take place before January 2. Hobbs, Arizona's current Secretary of State, and County Recorder Stephen Richer would be required to testify.

No exact date for trial was set, but Judge Thompson asked that all parties involved submit a list with the anticipated time required for the proceedings no later than 12 p.m. on Dec. 20.

Lake reacted to the ruling on Twitter, writing: "BREAKING: Our Election Case is going to trial. Katie Hobbs attempt to have our case thrown out FAILED. She will have to take the stand & testify. Buckle up, America. This is far from over."

Lake, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, lost to Hobbs by just over 17,000 votes.

However, the former TV anchor claimed "thousands of voters, disproportionately Republican, gave up voting due to the long wait times or simply avoided the polls after seeing the chaos reported."

The Air Force has grounded its entire B-2 Spirit fleet and will inspect each stealth bomber after one of the aircraft caught fire during an emergency landing earlier this month. 

The multi-role bomber, which was first unveiled in 1989, is capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear munitions. The 20-aircraft fleet is based out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. 

A B-2 Spirit experienced an undisclosed in-flight malfunction that resulted in an emergency landing at Whiteman on Dec. 10. No one was injured. 

Another B-2 had to make an emergency landing in September 2021 after the bomber's hydraulics system failed.

A timetable for the B-2 fleet's grounding was not released. A spokesperson for the 509th Bomb Wing did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday evening. 

The Air Force unveiled the B-2's replacement earlier this month, the B-21 Raider. 

"The Raider was built with open-system architecture, which makes it highly adaptable," Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said. "The B-21 is multi-functional. It can handle anything from gathering intel, to battle management, to integrating with our allies and partners."
