CBS Journalist Praised Palestinian Terror Group: Report

A CBS News journalist praised a Palestinian terror group and came into contact with terrorists while serving as a public official in Gaza, a media watchdog reports.

Marwan al-Ghoul, who has worked with CBS as a producer based in Gaza for more than two decades, spoke at a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) event back in 2018, according to an investigation by Honest Reporting.

CBS News producer Marwan Al Ghoul, who has covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since 1988 and lives in Gaza, says he hasn’t seen anything like the war between Israel and Hamas: “It’s horrible.”

In his remarks, Al-Ghoul praised his relative, a prominent member of the terror group, for “maintaining the noble national values established by the leading martyrs … and those who followed their path of struggle and martyrdom,” the report said.

“The fact that Al-Ghoul was invited to address an official event of the group suggests his (and his family’s) affiliation with it is deep. The effect such an affiliation might have on his ‘journalistic’ work cannot be underestimated,” the investigation stated.

The PFLP is a terror group that has been linked to many acts of violence against Israeli military and civilians, including suicide bombings.

Al-Ghoul also reportedly served as a public official, sitting on the Gaza City municipality council, which is controlled by Hamas. As an official, he came into contact with terrorists, according to the investigation.

“What’s clear is that such a public role, in an enclave ruled by terrorists and where terrorists are hosted by the mayor, cannot be done without problematic ties. Especially for a journalist who needs to cover political and civilian issues objectively,” the investigation says.

CBS has relied on Al-Ghoul’s reporting in the months since October 7, when Hamas launched a brutal and deadly surprise attack on Israeli civilians. Since then, Israel has waged a counteroffensive against Hamas in Gaza.

“Israel says that the war is on Hamas,” al-Ghoul said in a CBS interview from January. “But on the ground, it’s completely different. Most of the children or the victims who came to the hospital, I saw them with my eyes, and everyone can see them on TV news, they are children and women.”

Al-Ghoul is just the latest member of the media to be accused of having ties to terrorism. A CNN freelancer also based in Gaza once allegedly served in a Hamas-run body and took a picture of himself with a senior Hamas leader, another investigation by Honest Reporting reported earlier this month.

Legacy media outlets have also been criticized for have a general anti-Israel bias.

Justin Timberlake Lawyer Argues In Court Singer Wasn’t Intoxicated During DWI Arrest

Justin Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke, argued in court that the singer was not intoxicated when he was arrested last month for a DWI (driving while intoxicated) in New York.

During a hearing on Friday, Burke appeared in court without Timberlake and claimed that the cops screwed up when they arrested the 43-year-old pop star in Sag Harbor, CNN reported.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI,” Burke said in a statement. “The police made a number of very significant errors in this case.”

“Justin respects law enforcement and the very important job that they do,” the statement added. “He cooperated with the police officers at all times and treated them with the respect they deserve.”

“He also respects the entire judicial process including the District Attorney and Judge who were in court today,” Burke continued. “But the fact remains, he was not intoxicated and they made an error in arresting him for it. We are confident that this charge will be dismissed.”

Surveillance footage from the night of the arrest shows Timberlake’s 2025 BMW driving down a deserted street near the American Hotel in Sag Harbor in the Hamptons. The arrest report says Timberlake was stopped after a police officer noticed him ignoring a stop sign and “fail[ing] to keep on the right side of the roadway,” People noted.

The officer reported that Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

The report also noted that Timberlake said, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.”

The “Cry Me a River” singer was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and was given citations for running a stop sign and failure to keep in lane.

An arraignment in the case is scheduled to take place in August, CNN noted.
