Trump Designates Antifa ‘A Major Terrorist Organization’

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he is designating Antifa as a terrorist group.

In recent days, the president has accused left-wing groups of fomenting violence against Republicans and conservatives. The president accused the “radical left” of inciting hatred and violence after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10, and hinted at action from his administration to crack down on such groups.

“I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” wrote Trump in a post on Truth Social. “I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump’s announcement came days after he said that he would consider a terror group designation for Antifa, a radical leftist group that has been accused of attacking law enforcement and inciting riots.

Trump has also suggested revoking the tax-exempt status of progressive nonprofits over their support for radical elements in the United States and elsewhere.

In a video statement after Kirk’s death, Trump tied rhetoric from leftist groups to “terrorism” and violence aimed at outspoken conservatives.

“It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year in the most hateful and despicable way possible,” said Trump.

“For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the kind of terrorism that we are seeing in our country today and it must stop right now,” he said.

Three Police Officers Dead After Shooting In Pennsylvania, Suspect Also Deceased

Three police officers and the suspect who opened fire on them are dead after a shooting that took place on Wednesday afternoon in North Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Two other officers remain in critical condition but are considered stable.

According to multiple reports, the suspect was the subject of a stalking and trespass charge that was filed earlier in the day in York County, and police were going to make an arrest when the shooter — who has not yet been identified — instead opened fire.

Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner, Col. Christopher Paris, confirmed during a news conference on Wednesday afternoon that three of the Northern York Regional Police Department officers involved had been killed and their attacker had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Paris also announced that an investigation was still ongoing.

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a statement following the tragic shooting, saying via X, “The @FBI and @ATFHQ are on the scene supporting local law enforcement following the shooting of multiple police officers in York County, Pennsylvania.

Violence against law enforcement is a scourge on our society and never acceptable. Pray for the officers involved.

Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) also commented on the shooting, praising law enforcement officers for the work they do every day — and also pointed out that their families serve with them.

“It’s an extraordinary thing what these law enforcement families do. They support the individual who puts on the uniform and runs toward danger. They’re there for them when they leave in the morning, and they pray throughout the day that they will come home at night,” he said.
