Bar That Booted Customers Who Complained About Bud Light Trans Controversy Begs To Get Customers Back

An Indiana bar that threatened to remove customers earlier this month who complained about Bud Light in light of its decision to partner with a controversial transgender influencer is now begging for new customers because business is hurting.

In a now-deleted post on Facebook, the Fairfax Bar and Grill in Bloomington wrote on April 11:

We are tired of all of the hate. We are very open to debate and discussion and it’s truly a shame that we can’t have open conversations about this important political and cultural topic. Bars, in our opinion, exist as public spaces where ideas should be exchanged. Unfortunately due to all of the bigotry and hatred that has surfaced around the Bud Light controversy any patron wanting to voice their concerns about the issue will be immediately asked to pay their bill and leave our establishment.

The post went as far as to say that the bar would continue selling Anheuser-Busch products because “we don’t care who they make special cans for.”

On Wednesday, the bar published a new post, which has since been deleted, that stated: “In the last two weeks since sharing a post stating that we will not tolerate intolerance, our social media has been flooded with blatantly transphobic, homophobic and racist comments.”

“We are all inclusive and welcome all kindhearted customers,” the post continued. “After making that post, the comments on every post since include hate speech saying that transgender people are mentally ill, biological women are being erased, and showing a plethora of disgusting memes.”

The bar later said that “with the departure of some of our regulars, we have needed new clientele, and you have answered. I’m not gonna lie, we still need more of you right now,” the page said. “Please continue to consider supporting us.”

The bar then posted a new message on Thursday, addressing its controversy.

“A lot has been said – some correct, and some incorrect – and I want to clarify my stance,” the statement said. “What I really want to convey is this: just be respectful. Different opinions are welcome here as long as they are delivered respectfully. We’d no more want ugly, aggressive or rude interactions about which sports team someone thinks is better, than about societal issues.”

“We do not and will not censor opinions, but we do require civility in this establishment,” the statement added. “So if you can’t play nice, then get out of the sandbox. That goes for everyone! Let’s remember why we even gather at a bar – to enjoy each other’s company – and raise a glass to civility.”

Police Lose Track Of Mexican National Who Allegedly Murdered 5 Neighbors In Texas

Law enforcement officials in Texas said during a press conference on Saturday that the 38-year-old Mexican national who is wanted for allegedly killing five of his neighbors has escaped the area that officials believe that they had cornered him in.

San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said initially that officials believed that they had trapped Francisco Oropeza in a wooded area about a mile away from the crime scene.

However, in his most recent update, Capers said that law enforcement recovered his Oropeza’s cell phone, which they were likely using to try to track him.

Capers said that the search area for the suspect was up to 20 miles and that he “could be anywhere now.” Local FBI officials said that Oropeza should be considered “armed and dangerous” and that he is a “threat to the community.”

Oropeza allegedly murdered five of his neighbors after they asked him to stop shooting his gun because they had a baby that was trying to sleep.

Officers were initially called to the scene to respond to a complaint about “harassment” in Cleveland, Texas, and while en route, they received numerous calls about an active shooter. The suspect had been firing a rifle in his yard before the incident unfolded, officials say.

“One of the victims came out of the house and said, hey, we have a small baby that’s trying to sleep,” said Capers. “And the man said, I’ll shoot out in my front yard, I do what I want to in my own residence.”

“They went back in their house and then we have a video of him walking up their driveway with his AR-15,” Capers said.

He allegedly shot each of the five victims in the head. Some of the victims’ bodies shielded young children who survived and were transported to hospitals.

Officials named the victims as Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25; Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21; Julisa Molina Rivera, 31; Jonathan Casarez, 18; and Daniel Enrique Laso, 8.

“It’s horrific,” Capers said. “No one should ever have to look at this scene, the blood, the trauma that went on in that house.”
