How crazy is the China spy balloon situation? Even Obama’s former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is saying that it should be intercepted or shot down.

This story is more important than you may think.

The fascinating thing about this CNN segment is who does not get mentioned. Joe Biden.

Panetta and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer both know how bad this looks for Biden, so they leave his name out of the conversation completely, even though Panetta is basically criticizing Biden’s handling of the issue.

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta stated that the Chinese spy balloon over the U.S. is “gathering intelligence” and that the U.S. either needs to intercept it or shoot it down if that’s the last alternative and that simply letting the balloon go out to sea is not an option.

Panetta said, “I think the United States has to take control of this balloon. There are two things that are of great concern here: One is that it’s been determined to be a surveillance balloon, which means that it’s gathering intelligence. That’s the purpose of surveillance.

So, that’s what the Chinese are using it for. And secondly, it’s maneuverable, which means that the Chinese basically control the direction of that balloon. It’s invaded our airspace. It’s obviously invaded our sovereignty. I think it’s very important for the United States to take control of this balloon, either to intercept it or to shoot it down.”

He added, “I’m saying either intercept it, have the Chinese land it so that we can take control of it, or shoot it down, if that becomes the last alternative.”

As a Democrat, Panetta can’t come right out and criticize Biden by name, but he clearly thinks this matter is not being handled correctly.

This is a national security threat to America and a political disaster for Biden.

The recent controversy over gas stoves is a classic example of how the left works.

They put the idea out there that they wanted to get rid of gas stoves. The liberal media ran with it immediately. We suddenly had articles in major newspapers claiming that gas stoves cause asthma and are bad for your health and the environment.

When the public pushed back on this idea, suddenly the idea of banning gas stoves was a conspiracy theory. Suddenly, you were crazy for even thinking that anyone was going after gas stoves.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is accusing Republicans of fueling a frenzy over unfounded rumors that the Biden administration is getting ready to ban popular gas stoves because they don’t want to explain what spending cuts they want in exchange for raising the debt limit.

“At first you have to laugh at the ‘gas stove ban’ narrative being cooked up by the MAGA GOP,” he said in a statement released Friday.

Schumer’s comments come a day after centrist Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced that he had teamed up with conservative Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to introduce the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act.

So, according to Schumer, this is just a MAGA GOP narrative? Really?

Internal Biden admin memo shows it was serious about banning gas stoves before public uproar

The Biden administration seriously considered banning natural gas-powered stoves before it received widespread criticism for considering such a move, according to an internal memo obtained by Fox News Digital.

In the memo dated Oct. 25, 2022, Richard Trumka Jr. — whom President Biden appointed to serve on the five-person Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) — wrote to a fellow commissioner that there was sufficient evidence for the agency to move forward with a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR) to ban gas stoves in the near future. Trumka’s memo was titled, “NPR Proposing Ban on Gas Stoves (Indoor Air Quality).”

“The need for gas stove regulation has reached a boiling point,” the CPSC commissioner wrote in the October memo. “CPSC has the responsibility to ban consumer products that emit hazardous substances, particularly, when those emissions harm children, under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.”

“Emerging evidence is sufficient to conclude that gas stoves in homes emit toxic gasses that cause illness and that lower-cost, safer alternatives are available,” Trumka added.

In other words, you are crazy for reacting to this thing the Democrats are actively trying to do.

Make no mistake. In their obsessive pursuit of pushing climate change, the Democrats are fully committed to the idea of banning all fossil fuels.

And they don’t care how many poor people starve or freeze to death in the process. Those are just acceptable losses to them.
