Democratic strategy to beating President Donald Trump and the GOP revolves around “attention-seeking,” according to Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro.

The latest evidence of Shapiro’s theory came Thursday and involved Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla, who was handcuffed after unexpectedly barging into a press conference for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Shapiro called Padilla’s actions “insanity” and said law enforcement on the scene acted appropriately to stop what they believed to be a security risk.

“[Padilla] basically just rushed in and started yelling at her, yelling at her questions, and security appears not to know who he is,” said Shapiro. “They don’t know him from Adam. It’s not like he cleared his presence with security.”

Padilla crashed a press conference Noem gave in Los Angeles regarding ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the area. Padilla’s brief detainment has drawn loud condemnations from Democrats who claim to be holding the Trump administration accountable.

The stunt is the latest in a string of Democratic antics designed to draw attention, but that have little real impact, according to Shapiro.

“Let’s be clear: Democrats are all looking for attention right now. Everything is about attention-seeking,” he said. “If you think of Democrats, at this point, as a series of 5-year-olds who are desperate for mommy’s attention, then their behavior starts to make a lot more sense.”

Shapiro cited New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, who set a record for the longest filibuster speech in U.S. Senate history in April. The Daily Wire host also named Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who appeared to mimic the motion of being in handcuffs while she was arrested for blocking traffic outside the Supreme Court in 2022.

“The Democrats are solely reliant still on this idea that whoever resists Trump the most strongly wins, that all you have to do is just yell at orange man bad and yell at members of the orange-man-bad cabinet, and that will somehow result in a magical victory for Democrats,” Shapiro continued.

“I don’t know what they’re thinking,” he said. “They’ve tried this now for a full decade. If your strategy isn’t working after a full decade, you might want to try a different strategy.”

Hundreds of thousands of migrants who were paroled into the country by the Biden administration were informed Thursday that their legal status and work authorization has been officially revoked and are now being encouraged to self-deport back to their countries of origin.

The Department of Homeland Security began notifying many of the more than 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Venezuela, Haiti, and Nicaragua that their parole had been formally revoked as of Thursday. The move comes after the Trump administration announced in March that it would revoke the status of the migrants.

“They allowed more than half a million poorly vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela and their immediate family members to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin charged.

She added that the Biden administration “granted them opportunities to compete for American jobs and undercut American workers; forced career civil servants to promote the programs even when fraud was identified; and then blamed Republicans in Congress for the chaos that ensued and the crime that followed.”

President Donald Trump also railed against the Biden administration’s immigration policies and encouraged illegal aliens to self-deport in a post on Truth Social Thursday.

“Biden let 21 Million Unvetted, Illegal Aliens flood into the Country from some of the most dangerous and dysfunctional Nations on Earth — Many of them Rapists, Murderers, and Terrorists,” Trump wrote. “Those who are here illegally should either self deport using the CBP Home App or, ICE will find you and remove you. Saving America is not negotiable!”

The formal revocation of parole status for more than half a million migrants comes a week after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Trump administration, noting that it was within the president’s power to modify the status of the migrants.

The ruling came in the wake of a federal judge’s decision to temporarily block Trump from revoking the status. That judge, The Daily Wire reported, previously volunteered for and donated to prominent Democrat candidates, including Senator Elizabeth Warren and former President Barack Obama.

“Ending the CHNV parole programs, as well as the paroles of those who exploited it, will be a necessary return to common-sense policies, a return to public safety, and a return to America First,” McLaughlin said.

The Trump administration previously encouraged illegal aliens to self-deport, remaking an online application that was previously used to streamline migrants into the country into a platform where illegal aliens can submit their intent to depart the United States. Illegal aliens can even qualify for a $1,000 stipend and have their travel costs covered if they leave the country voluntarily.
