An illegal immigrant who the State of California reportedly granted a commercial driver’s license allegedly made an illegal U-turn and killed three people at an “Official Use Only” turn on the Florida Turnpike.

On August 12, just south of the St. Lucie County north border in southern Florida, a collision occurred when a semi tractor-trailer made an unauthorized U-turn. The crash with an oncoming black 2015 Chrysler Town & Country van killed all three occupants, “a 30-year-old Florida City man, a 37-year-old Pompano Beach woman and a 54-year-old Miami man,” according to TC Palm.

The large truck, which was hauling a box trailer, was in the outside lane and attempted a U-turn into an “official use only” area along the turnpike, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. As the semi tractor-trailer crossed “over all northbound travel lanes” to make the U-turn on the access road, the agency said the minivan, which was in the inside lane, was “unable to avoid” it and collided with and became wedged under the left side of the trailer.

“Harjinder Singh, 35, was arrested after the collision near Fort Pierce on the Florida Turnpike on August 12 after he tried to turn his tractor-trailer through an ‘unauthorized location,’ the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) said. Singh entered the United States illegally when he crossed the southern border in 2018, the FLHSMV said,” Newsweek reported.

Singh had “entered the country illegally and obtained a commercial driver’s license in California,” Fox News reported.

California Democrat governor Gavin Newsom, who has called President Trump “unhinged,” claimed that Trump’s nickname for him, “Gavin Newscum,” “triggers” him,  and also apparently has trouble distinguishing between the Border Patrol and ICE agents, signed AB 1766 into law in September 2022, extending the ability for illegal immigrants to obtain state IDs even if they don’t drive. His office stated, “Undocumented Californians will be able to obtain a State ID, a critical step for inclusion and meaningful participation in our communities and economy.”

That extension followed the signing of AB 60, known as the Safe and Responsible Driver Act, which was passed in 2013 under Governor Jerry Brown and allowed illegal immigrants to obtain a driver’s license. Newsom consistently supported the legislation, never making an effort to revoke it as governor, and then extended the law with AB 1766.

In June, Newsom filed a lawsuit against Trump for federalizing and deploying the California National Guard to deal with protests against Trump’s immigration polices, claiming the Trump administration did not “believe in the rule of law.”

Trump Says Zelensky Can End War With Russia ‘Almost Immediately’

President Donald Trump said Sunday night that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could end the war with Russia “almost immediately” if he wanted.

Trump’s comments came ahead of a meeting on Monday at the White House between Trump, Zelensky, and other European leaders. Trump, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska, is pushing for an end to the years-long war that broke out in February 2022.

“President Zelenskyy of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight. Remember how it started,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “No getting back Obama given Crimea (12 years ago, without a shot being fired!), and NO GOING INTO NATO BY UKRAINE. Some things never change!!!”

After his meeting with Putin, Trump said that “it was determined by all” that the best way to end the war would be to go directly to a peace deal rather than a ceasefire agreement.

Along those lines, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that both sides would have to make concessions to get to a peace deal.

“There are things Russia wants that it cannot get and there are things Ukraine wants it’s not going to get,” he said on “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “Both sides are going to have to give up something in order to get to the table in order to make this happen. That’s just the way it is. The sooner we accept that, that’s the reality.”

Zelensky, who arrived in the United States on Sunday, said in a post on X that “we all share a strong desire to end this war quickly and reliably.”

“I am confident that we will defend Ukraine, effectively guarantee security, and that our people will always be grateful to President Trump, everyone in America, and every partner and ally for their support and invaluable assistance. Russia must end this war, which it itself started,” he said.

The last meeting at the White House between Zelensky and Trump ended with the Ukrainian president being asked to leave after he clashed with both Trump and Vice President JD Vance during a meeting in the Oval Office. Trump said during that exchange that Zelensky was “gambling with World War III” and that he was being disrespectful to the United States for all the aid it had sent to his country.

Other leaders scheduled to meet with Trump on Monday include French President Emmanuel Macron, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Union President Ursula von der Leyen.
